With the market of travel insurance being so competitive and the costs regularly reviewed and improved, what has always been a necessity when travelling can now be viewed in a pleasant light and no longer considered as a burden for the average traveler and holiday-maker. If you can\’t afford travel insurance then you can\’t afford to travel and besides, it is far more liberating to know that, just in case you\’re out of luck, most traumatic events while travelling can be remedied or assisted by the cover you purchase before you leave. This far outweighs the disappointment of wishing you had spent a little extra on travel insurance.

And even more important than getting travel insurance is making sure that you purchase the correct policy and you understand exactly what is and is not covered in your policy. Do not hesitate to voice any queries and always read your policy wording carefully before purchasing your travel insurance. You will find countless reviews online sent in by holiday makers who have lost money because they either didn\’t have insurance in the first place or neglected to familiarise themselves with the fine print on their policy meaning they thought they were covered in certain situations when in fact they weren\’t.

These are some of the mistakes that might render you unworthy of a claim: having a different name on your travel documents to those on your passport (for example if you still have your passport in your maiden name and have booked your flight in your married name); not getting a police report to back up your claim; injury incurred while under the influence of alcohol and leaving baggage unattended in a case of theft.

Remember, When buying travel insurance, that the policy wording can be very involved and specific and underwriters are quick to refuse payment should your policy not cover even a single aspect of your insurance claim unless you know to what extent you are covered, in which case your policy wording is your best asset.

If you can\’t afford travel insurance then you can\’t afford to travel. With the market of travel insurance being so competitive and the costs regularly reviewed and improved, what has always been a necessity when travelling can now be viewed in a pleasant light and no longer considered as a burden for the average traveler and holiday-maker.

If you\’re about to purchase your cheap travel insurance online, check out our competitive and reliable travel insurance policies.

Making fun Christmas ornaments doesn\’t need to be a complicated affair. Keep it simple with just a pile of silly things and watch your kids have fun! Simply spend time with your kids working on delightful Christmas ornament crafts and create memories and fun decorations at the same time! Here are a few easy projects to make with your youngsters.

Candy Cane Reindeer: Get ready to make a whole bunch of these. Once you start you won\’t want to stop. You\’ll need some candy canes, of course, and some small googly eyes and red pompoms. You\’ll also need some brown pipe cleaners, pretty gift ribbon, and a tiny bell.

Take the pipe cleaner and wrap it around the hook of the candy cane forming a V. Then bend the V into several angles to look like reindeer antlers. Glue the eyes on, then the pompom nose. Tie the ribbon on to form the hanger and string the ribbon through the bell for more decoration. Hang the reindeer from your tree or wreath for a pretty and fun decoration.

Pasta Wreath: This is a traditional Christmas wreath with a twist. You\’ll need small sturdy paper plates, a variety of pasta shapes, craft glue, tempura paint or craft spray paint, and pretty thick ribbon for a bow.

Assemble by first cutting a hole out of the middle of the paper plate so you end up with a wreath form. Pick out your pasta and start gluing it all over the wreath form. Try to cover as much of the surface as possible, even overlapping the pasta if you can. Then paint with whatever you have chosen and let the paint dry. Then glue on the ribbon and other embellishments to make your wreath pretty. Keep making them! You\’ll want in each room!

Cinnamon Cookie Cutter Ornaments: These pretty little ornaments are not only a sweet smelling ornament, but they are a great way to keep little ones busy and happy. You\’ll need the following: 1 cup of ground cinnamon, 4 tablespoons of white craft glue, a little less than 1 cup of water, but you might need more. To get set up you\’ll need to have a cookie sheet, toothpicks or straws to make a hole, some ribbon, and of course, cookie cutters.

Put the cinnamon and glue in a bowl and start pouring the water in a little at a time. Mix and keep adding water until you get a dough similar to sugar cookies. Put the dough in the refrigerator for about 2 hours. Take out a cutting board and sprinkle cinnamon on it, then place the dough on top and knead it until the dough is smooth. Roll the dough out like cookie dough, about 1/4 inch thick. Sprinkle a little more cinnamon on the cutting board if the dough sticks. Use your cookie cutter to cut out shapes you want, poking a hole in the top of each one for a hanger. Place the shapes on your cookie sheet and bake in a warm oven for 2 hours. Remove and cool, then tie the ribbon through for hanging. Hang from your tree, wreath, or give them as gifts.

Once you start looking, you\’ll be surprised how many easy Christmas ornament ideas are out there to make with your children. When the days get long over this holiday season, gather your little ones together and make some fun new homemade ornaments… and some memories!

Jewelry is very desirable but they are so expensive. That’s why this page is so valuable for those who are looking for a few tips in saving money on those bling.

Online auctions are a great place to begin. At least if you don’t find the piece you want or it is out of your price range, you will get an idea of how much the going price is.

One place that won’t give you a stiff markup is the pawn shop. They have loads of inventory these days so it’s a great way to get jewelry for cheap. You might be helping them get some needed cash too.

You never know until you ask. Some of your friends may already know where to find great savings on jewelry because they’ve been secretly buying a bunch of bling without your knowledge.

Jewelry needs to be cleaned, adjusted like a car so consider the stores that will give you free services for life. Even if the price tag is higher, they might work out to be cheaper in the long run.

Flea markets and yard sales are a great place to find good deals on jewelry but make sure you are buying genuine stone and not some composite material.

Go to fairs and jewelry conferences to get wholesale discounts without buying wholesale quantities. To top it off, the dealers are usually very honest about their product too.

Most people will go to a jewelry store because of the advertisements but this is a usually a mistake. Where do you actually think the cost of advertising is covered?

Don’t ever walk into a jewelry store inside a mall. The rent is so expensive and they always transfer the cost to the customers. Shopping channels on TV is the same thing. Stay away.

Gold can come in the form of composite as well as pure gold. They are all priced differently obviously so make sure you know what you are buying and comparing apples to apples before you pay.

Never bought from them before? Now’s your chance since they are running a special with the Buy.com coupon that’s available at the page below.

Everybody enjoys Christmas. It is a time to get together happily with friends and family while avoiding the cold and dark outside. By putting up Christmas decorations and lights we create a beautiful atmosphere that people of all ages enjoy. Nowadays many families are worried about the rising cost of their electricity bills. To ensure that the Christmas season doesn’t unduly add to the burden, you can now install solar Christmas lights. Over the last couple of years these have found favor with many families throughout the country.

In appearance they look like ordinary Christmas lights. The difference is that they have a controller board that contains a battery linked to solar cells. From this the power is transmitted to each of the bulbs.

You may think that in winter time the sun is not strong enough to create enough energy to power even a small light but this is not true. Modern solar cells are very efficient even on an overcast day and as they transfer the energy to a battery you will have enough power even during the darkest nights.

Apart from the financial savings, solar Christmas lights have another useful aspect. As they use a renewable source of energy they are much better for the environment than are regular Christmas lights.

Solar lights can be bought in as various designs as the traditional format. They are available in different colors, sizes, and styles that suit every families needs. There are ones that will flicker and twinkle like stars and others that can be on continuously throughout the night. The actual settings of when they turn themselves on and off each day are determined through the easy to use controller board.

Solar Christmas lights are safe to be used both indoors and out, and in any weather. You can place them on Christmas trees, guttering, porches, and throughout the garden. If you are going to put them inside your house then you must remember to place the solar cells outside! Also they can be used for other events apart from just Christmas. When you are hosting a birthday part or anniversary party they can make excellent decorations.

There are two main types of solar Christmas lights. There are the rope lights that have a row of LEDs contained in a transparent plastic tube, these look delightful when hanging from a door frame or window. The other option is string lights; these are better suited for trees and walls. All can add to a beautiful display that improves your Christmas experience.

Check out solarlightssite.com for more solar Christmas lights ideas and other ways to use solar lights for your home or business. You are welcome to reprint this article – but get your own unique content version here.

For many of us, it is time to begin decorating our homes in preparation for the holiday season. If you are like most of us, you still have the old, traditional Christmas lights that you have been using for years. The Halloween decorations are likely just as old and tired. This may be the perfect time to think about upgrading to solar holiday lights.

Traditional holiday lights are a hassle. You always wind up running extension chords all over the place, burned out bulbs need to be replaced; you have to worry about short circuits due to rain, the huge electricity bills… Yea, it’s a pain. Solar holiday lights completely eliminate those hassles, but how do they look?

Recently, the growing development of solar lighting technology has opened the door for manufacturers to offer more styles and options than ever. Solar Halloween and Christmas lights are no exception. Some Christmas lighting examples might be:

Solar Net lights – These lights are solar LED lights that are arraigned in a net. They are used for covering bushes and shrubs. They have daylight sensors that turn them off during the day and back on when the sun goes down. They have about an 8 hour light span.

Solar Christmas string lights – This is a string of 50 solar powered LED lights that can be strung around lamp posts, trees, mail boxes, banisters, etc. They also have a sensor that turns them on at night and off during the day and run for about 8 hours.

Multicolor Solar Christmas Lights – These lights are the multicolored counterparts to the regular string lights. They also have a day/night sensor and usually come with about 50 LEDs.

Solar Blue Snow Flake Lights – I personally have these and I love them. They are really bright and very pretty. There were a couple of bad reviews on Amazon from people having a problem with the lights shorting out after a while, but I have had no problems with mine. They are only $8 for a string of 20, and the seller has great feedback, so for me, it was worth trying.

If you’re looking for Halloween decorations, you can choose:

Solar Lighted Halloween Jack-o-lantern Decoration – This is an 8″ diameter solar powered, smiling jack-o-lantern ornament that you can put in your front yard or porch. It comes with a daylight sensor that turns it off during the day and on at night.

Halloween Sound Activated Rocks – These are rocks that charge during the day, and at night light up with a “Go Back” or “Boo” (depending on the model). These rocks are about 9.5″ by 6″ by 4″. They also have a daylight sensor and are solar powered (of course).

Solar Powered Halloween Skull Decoration – This is a “skull” version of the jack-o-lantern decoration. It’s about 10″ in diameter.

Needless to say, they all come with the benefits that we have come to expect from all solar lighting products, like: ease of installation, energy efficiency, versatility, etc. Not to mention, most traditional lights need to be either turned on and off manually, or attached to a timer. All of these solar holiday lights come with daylight sensors. It doesn’t get more trouble free than that!

These are but a few of the types of solar powered holiday lights. I hope that these examples gave you some new ideas.

School holidays have arrived, the kids are home. But occasionally mom isn’t quite so delighted. What are you going to do with the kids? How will you keep them entertained? Teach them to make homemade candy.

Just about anyone loves candy, homemade candy especially. Kids love it and love it more if it’s them that have made it. And it really isn’t that hard to make homemade candy if you start with one of the easier candy recipes and the kids love eating the results.

Last night I spent the evening making candy with my kids. They loved it and you should have seen them lick out the bowl. They could hardly wait till it was ready to eat.

And it’s important in my view to get kids started learning to cook. It’s never too early to teach kids the delights, and skills, of great homemade food, including homemade candy. In fact candy is the perfect place to start kids learning to make homemade food.

Sadly cooking at home seems to be waning. I believe that they are even making houses now that don’t have a kitchen. That’s sad. A good time for any family is when everyone gets together in the kitchen and starts making something yummy. And there’s no doubt that candy is yummy! It’s one of the best types of cooking to start the kids with.

But there’s a few things to remember. Always allow plenty of time because cooking with kids always involves more time than you imagine. And you will always have mess, that comes with the territory. Kids must make mess to cook it seems, so you’ll have to clean up later.

And there’s one golden rule. When you have a good recipe always double it because if you’ve got a family there never seems to be enough. Everyone wants more.

And it’s not just the kids that love homemade candy. It makes a fine gift for friends and family, and it’s something that the kids can give that they really did make themselves. And grandma will just love getting candy from the grandkids.

So if you’ve got kids, and you’re looking for good ideas for things to do in the school holidays, get them making some homemade candy. It starts them off learning a skill they’ll use all their life, the skill of cooking.

So find some simple homemade candy recipes, get the kids into the kitchen, and get started. Just don’t eat the candy all in one go, as we did last night.

Hungry now and want some great Home Made Candy Recipes? Visit Peter’s Website Homemade Candy Recipes and find out more about making Homemade Candy.

Brisbane offers visitors a myriad of fun, exciting and informative options for the holiday maker from famous pub hopping the most popular being The Regatta on Coronation Drive to seeing your favorite sports events. The Gabba the pround homeland of the Brisbane Lions and the Suncorp Stadium home of the Brisbane Broncos. It is also host to one of the Queensland’s busiest different forms of public transportation, from railroad transits to bus networks. If you want to save yourself from long rush hours, it would be to your benefit to rather look for Brisbane car rentals whenever visiting this city.

When planning your Brisbane trip, search google to source your car hire. If you’re arriving at Brisbane Airport, check the advertising boards that are located within each terminal. You could also search for Brisbane car rental reviews placed by people who have already rented a car there. You may also find some great travelling hints from visitors that have used the Brisbane roads for the first time.

Rather than asking for a street directory my approach is to request a Satellite Navigation System (GPS) when making your reservation. This will ensure you have a current map to make your travels around the Brisbane area easier. Remember though that the GPS system may come at an extra cost and are often based on availability.

Brisbane is relatively easy to get around and can be enjoyed in any size car, depending on the amount travelling in your party. Vehicles range from economical, family and even SUV’s. Decide what you and your fellow travelers need and then start your search based on size of vehicle and don’t forget the need for storage space.

When booking your car rental make sure that the rates shown include any taxes and surcharges that may apply. Anyway, during the reservation process, the agency would give you a quotation before you finalise the deal. Remember the Insurance question is usually left until you pick up the car, and this is usually quite substantial. This cost can be obtained from the respective websites

Cheap car rentals could be acquired through different websites with most car rental operators in Brisbane offering online discounts. They also give priority to members for online discounts and refunds. They even throw in free upgrades like unlimited kilometres and vehicle upgrades. Remember there are two types of car rental operators. The independent off airport companies that will pick up and drop off from the airports. Then there are the National Companies that operate from the airports for your convenience, but of course at a cost.

Accepting the lower cost though could also be more costly if you run into an unscrupulous operator. Higher prices though do not guarantee a stress free rental. That’s where sites that compare differing car rental options is a great benefit. So what would be the best way to rent a car in Brisbane or any other location? Well, put simply Google it.

When you have looked at all of the above the next step is to book your car and start your Brisbane experience. You will be glad you did.

Packing for a ski vacation could be difficult especially if you have to take a flight. Lots and lots of airlines these days are charging for additional bags and particularly for the heavier ones. It is not unheard of for travellers to pay as much as their flight ticket in extra baggage charges. If you reckon you are going to have to travel with a lot of stuff with you on a holiday it would be a better idea to go with the flight company with the greatest baggage allowance or one that provides cheaper charges.

On most ski holiday destinations the flight companies are used to travellers taking skis and they generally to take this into account. Always notify the airline well in advance if not at the time of booking that you are going to be taking skis and get them reserved. The airline will have a limit on the amount of skis they can carry on each trip. You do not want to be in the nightmare position that you turn up at the airport and you can not take your skis with you on the plane.

If you are new to skiing or do not want to take your skis with you then you will normally find that you should be able to hire skis, ski boots and suitable attire in virtually every ski destination. Just check your ski resorts amenities on the net or speak to the hotel you are booked in for some local advice.

If you are simply can not cope without all your clothes and stuff you could organize to have a bag shipped prior to your departure date by a shipping company. With the large excess baggage charges on some flights you could discover that it is easier to transport your stuff cheaper than pay these extra costs. Make it even cheaper by sharing the cost with the people you are going with.

Ski jackets and sweaters can be large and will take up a lot of space in any luggage. Why not wear them on the flight instead. It may be to hot to do this but you can take these items on the plane with you and when you arrive in the colder ski resort you can immediately put your jacket and jumper on and get the benefit immediately.

Remember the more you plan and get organized the more smoothly things will go and the less hassled you will be.

Getting the most out of your Neilson Ski Holiday is easy when you have so many ski resorts to choose from. Find out more with Alan Bain travel writer at Travel Snips
